Geography
The Barony of Midian is focused on the top of a very large, low-activity volcano that, even before the split, was regarded as the centre of the world.
Local Culture
While the greater part of the population are viewed as oddities and halfbreeds by the rest of Golgotha, the Midianites see their home as the birthplace of the gods -- which isn't that far off, since the gods are merely powerful Outsiders.
Living atop a volcano has affected all parts of life for the inhabitants of Midian. Fire magics are easier and more integrated here than anywhere else in Golgotha. Spells available exclusively to Midianites include Calm Earth (Abjuration [Earth]), Fire Dance (Evocation [Fire]), Raise Volcano (Conjuration [Earth, Fire]), Volcanic Storm (Conjuration [Fire]), and Wall of Smoke (Conjuration [Fire]), per Fire and Ash: Spells of the Volcano.
